Not a Fiction Writer

Though I do often wish I loved writing fiction, I have never really gotten deeply into it. Give me a heavy research paper and I can get excited, but I'd rather read someone else's fiction.

I do have brief glimpses of cool plot ideas, but they drift out my head before I can do anything with them.

Posting the book covers has me thinking of writing, writers, books, stories, and I've quite enjoyed the process. I know there is a group out there for posting covers, but I am not savvy enough to find it. I might join and do some more covers as I think of more books I've loved.

Got my hair trimmed. I can't believe I paid as much money as I did for the tiny bit of attention and work my hair needed. HO hum... I may go back to just letting it go. Getting so thin, I think wigs might be great, but probably itchy. Waiting for it to grow out long enough to put up suitably; and hope that happens before intense gardening. I do loathe my hair in my eyes when I am working. But, my hair guy did tell me that I have "good hair" which was a boost. A lover once told me I was vain and I now see that he was probably right as I am not dealing easily with wrinkles, think hair and the other physical changes of aging.

Also went to the chiropractor who said I was in good shape, just tight. Need to stretch more I guess. I appreciate the "good shape" comment. I prefer that to the alternative. And encouragement is great. I appreciate the years of yoga I've practiced.

Anah is coming down to use my craft paints for a school project so that should be interesting.

I didn't cook. Made this fabulous white chili last night and some of my awesome cornbread. Tasted really good, but my body went into reject mode. the day before I had made lentil soup, perhaps too many legumes in a short period of time. Thus, today I wasn't particular hungry so didn't make anything new. Both bean dishes are available if anyone shows up hungry. I had considered baked mac and cheese as we haven't had it probably a year, but after all the running around town am just wanting to sit on my butt and finish the Ann Cleeves book.

Ugh, haircuts. Would you feel comfortable trimming your own ends? I've been doing it for over a decade (except for my bangs but the local salon only charges me $7.

Maybe get a reasonably priced wig and see how you like it? My hair has always been fine and thin looking and I'm thinking of getting some cheap-ish synthetic extensions to see if they are something I could do when I'm in the mood to be glammy.

I can't stand my hair in my face while gardening either. Or any other time I need to bend my head over. Of course, you have "think hair." So you have that going for you, at least. :)

Love your photo.

Hah, I just think I have hair. I need a proofreader not a wig.

Ty on the photo, I am not liking the way I look of late.

I've been thinking about Mac and cheese too.
I will probably make it for dinner Friday night.
:^9.... (This is me licking my chops.)
In the mean time, I'm going to go eat another piece of the quiche I made before dawn this morning.
:^)

And now it's time for me to get a trim, too. You remind me of a friend who is very good looking as you are and she got her hair cut shorter and shorter but now has grown it out again. I think mainly because she has moved and doesn't have her friend to cut it for her anymore. She used to swap childcare for hair cuts. A fair swap, don't you think? My hair is becoming thinner, too.

Bah on your gut. It has gone on strike along with mine.

That's great about your body, though! I guess more yoga stretching for you!

I'm with you on the writing. I am more of a reader, too. I have read a couple of good stories of your's though, I think?

My gut and yours on strike together, that's a good one. My plan was to get off the ppi I've taken for far too long, but have to get to a good place before I start as it is very difficult to quit. I shall be patient.

I was doing word prompts for a while and wrote some stories, might be those.

I had to look what a ppi is. That would be very hard to get off and I'd say be careful!

Yes, our guts are on strike together, although mine for much longer. Finally had a well day today.

Ah, it could be a story or two of your's started from word prompts that I'm remembering.

Good hair, good body--go, you ^_^

I have a streak of vanity, too -_- I actually get angry with the new lines forming. I call them "little bastards" in the mirror *lol*...

Love the photo--your smile makes me smile every time <3

I just have been unhappy with my looks of late, need to get over that, can't change it.

Ty for the smile comment, appreciated <3

You're right <3 We shouldn't stress over what we can't change. (So much we can change to focus on!)

I never heard of white chili before. Now i need to try it. You're opening my mind to some new foods! Like the tomato pie, that was great.

I don't even look like myself to myself any more. Hard to get used to.

White chili is great, green chiles and great northern beans. I used a new recipe that has cream cheese in it. Of course, it has meat, chicken, but you could leave that out.

I avoid mirrors lol...remember my mom saying she caught a glimpse of an old woman in a mirror and then with horror realized it was her. I think I'm there lol

I rarely get my hair cut. I used to go maybe every 6 months but since we moved I just kind of put off finding a new hair salon. I finally did after a year and got a cut. Now I think my hair is growing slower than it used to. As I got it cut back in Sept. and right now I can barely get a tiny ponytail out of it. I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing.

White chili, lentil soup, and Mac and cheese all sound delicious, even if you didn’t end up making the Mac and cheese. I bought all the ingredients to make chili and cornbread but probably won’t end up making it until sometime this weekend.

I kind of wish I haf not cut mine, but it was scraggly on the ends and my kids kept urging me to get it done. It grows slowly too, hoping by summer I can at least get it out of my face.

Yesterday I tried to make a spinach pie, epic fail. I firgit the cottage cheese. But the dog loves it :-)

Now I need to cook today but no ideas.
