Not Much

Forgot to post this year's hay bale sculpture that is on the road to The Elms, very inventive this season.

The flapjack plant is putting out a bloom stalk, interested to see what emerges. Apparently the mother plant dies after blooming, but alresdy had "babies" clustered around her base.

The weather has been glorious so have taken advantage and been outside. Planted about 100 bulbs: daffodils, narcissus, crocus and alliums, Though I love tulips they never bloom well for me so left them off my list. Pulled up flowers that the frost has killed.

Struggling with anxiety and heart palpitations the last few days. One of those vicious circle things, the skipped beats create anxious thoughts and then the thoughts give rise to more PVC'S. I am weary of it. Have been unable to find joy for several days.

Woke to cloudy skies and the promise of showers, so looks like a day inside. Almost completed one sock so maybe will try to knock out that and start the second one.

Making tortilla soup for kids later. Husband dug sweet potatoes, a good harvest so I used the damaged ones to make a sweet potato pie, yummy.

Still reading the Joni Mitchell bio alternating with a British murder mystery.

Hoping to go through today calmly and easily. I hope we all do.

I get those anxiety palpitations too. *hugs* This video seems to help when I feel it building. There's something about the tones

I love the cow hay sculpture, so adorable!

Thanks so much for the video. Will give it a try. I've had these palpitations for 40 years but I still let them freak me out....crazy lol

The hay sculptures are so fun, love to see what they come up with next. Last year was a pig.

That hay sculpture is amazing!

Bulbs... I need to buy some bulbs. But I've been waiting for the summer flowers in all my planters to give up the ghost, and the bacopa just keeps on flowering.

The cow is just a hoot!

I forgot bulbs last year so as soon as they went on sale I bought some. We've had a hard freeze so all my annuals are toast.

I've not looked for hawthorn jam, but will see. Maybe Amazon? God knows they have everything else. Lol

Ty for the advice and it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one. I just love (not) how this body crap gets worse with age.

Couldn't find jam, but ordered some tea.

Darn! Looks lie I triggered you anxiety and PVCs. Sorry about that! Old Flame's GP said that his is not bad enough to do anything about and as he has no symptoms, he doesn't have to go on any medication. Yay! His GP wants him to have another echo cardiogram. "What for?", I say. His GP says his right atrium is enlarged, but still in the normal range, so he's not worried about it.

That bale art is very inspiring. I ever though of using hay bales like that! Believe me, I'm not going to do it. Too much lugging around of those heavy bales. They are huge! I have 1 1/2 in my side yard :P

That's interesting that your flapjack is flowering now. Even though it will die, the pups will make good replacement pot plants.

Bah on the cool and cloudy weather. It spoilt most of my usually sunny winter.

Your socks will be cool.

Funny, I bought a sweet potato today. How serendipitous!

I like the flapjack plant!
You will have a gorgeous flower garden when the bulbs all bloom.
The tortilla soup and sweet potato pie sounds like my kind of meal.
I'm sorry you can't find your joy...hugs

Thanks for the kind comments. Looking forward to all the blossoming. Joy will return, it always does.

"...this year's hay bale sculpture... very inventive this season."

Personally, I find it udderly mooving. But that's just me because I'm a country kid at heart. Hope you have another great day...

Clever and damned funny, you light me up.
Oct. 29th, 2018 03:02 pm (UTC)
Haha, thanks. And glad I can do that once in a while...
