Ramble on Rose

Another cold grey rainy day during which I was really hard pressed to entertain myself. Tried any number of video options but only got halfway through a movie and checking out three or four documentaries. For my sins the first thing I encountered this morning was the cat food dish and all of its contents scattered across the laundry room floor. Not a particularly fabulous way to start the day, and I managed to get it all cleaned up and the rug shake and before the rain really started up.

My focus wasn't good enough to become engaged in the book I'm reading and I haven't sketched in the last several days. I did manage to eat a good number of cookies. And daughter number one came for a visit and we had a great talk. I tend to learn a lot from our conversations  especially when she's going to school because she discusses the things that she's studying. So today I was introduced to the concept of shifting molecules around to create different substances. While it is highly unlikely that I will ever need this information, it's interesting. Next semester is pathophysiology. I'm looking forward to that having always been interested in how this body we live in works.

Slept for a while just to pass time which seems to be going very slowly today -"creeping in that petty pace" fashion.

Someone not far from here keeps firing a gun or guns. Must be target shooting as nothing is in season this time of year. I don't like to hear the sounds of guns in the distance.

And on that somewhat unsettling note I'm going to once again pickup my book and see if I can read more than a page before laying it down again.

The sounds of shooting would definitely disturb me, as well... :s Hope they piss off soon.

The body is so interesting, and I'm particularly interested in the brain. I have a few neurological books and sometimes I really have to struggle through them but it's always so interesting (even if I do need Google/the dictionary open the whole time lol)

Hope you get your focus back. I'm having a hard time reading lately...too much on my mind bleh

The brain is fascinating. I have long been working on reprogramming mine.

I hate the sound of guns going off. It echos for miles around.

The visit from your daughter must be delightful and you can learn so much from her studies including the human body.

It has been hard for me to focus on things this weekenf too. Especially for reading.

Maybe the lack of focus is due to Mercury Retrograde? Reading is I suppose a type of communication.

No doubt, wanted to finish the whole series, but it's getting stale.

Napping and the eating of cookies sounds like a perfect way to pass time if you ask me.

Usually it suffices, needing physical activity soon.

TBG ran me ragged yesterday, so I'm hoping for your quiet day today. Fingers crossed.
