Nothing Going On

Just hanging out waiting for Spring to feel like Spring. The spinach could be picked but I have not been inclined to doing so with current temps in the 30's. Warmer days ahead but with rain. Happy for rain, but not spinach picking weather either.

Meeting a high school classmate for lunch. He lives in Chicago and passes through here usually once a year. I was going to blow off our usual meet up for lunch, but my girls really pushed me to get out. Certainly I do stay home a lot.

Worked on the art journal and the sock yesterday though not simultaneously. Started a sketch, no joy in the process though. Ah passion, please come back.

Binge watched a couple of documentaries on Netflix over the weekend. First was a detailed account of the settlement of followers of Rajneesh/Osho in Oregon. Very interesting indeed. Of course I remember the news clips, but the details are fascinating. The other was about Adderal and other "performance enhancing" drugs and it rather amazed me the attitude toward their use by college students and young professionals. I cannot believe that kids who take this stuff from childhood are not going to be fucked up. Basically it's speed. Folks get all worked up about methamphetamines, but make sure their kids "take their pills", crazy, just crazy. Title = "Take Your Pills."

Sesame chicken in slow cooker.

Pooper scooper arrived yesterday, how's that for excitement?

Wow, a pooper scooper - I dunno, that's pretty wild stuff compared to what's going on here. We are dark and grey, just waiting for the rain to fall. I am not inclined to leave the house much either and probably wouldn't if it wasn't for work and the fact that TBG can't stand to be in the house for more than a couple of hours at a time (he gets really bad cabin fever). I don't know what's going to happen to him when he retires!

I sometimes think that I might have benefited from having a job, well other than all the jobs that I had here at the farm.

I started working on the farm when I was seven and could not wait to get off it and get a 'paying' job. Now I think back fondly on those times. They certainly gave me a work ethic that stuck with me.
