Yeah it's really a beautiful old home.

What a shame. I love those old houses.

Me too, lots of them being torn down around here.

It reminds me a bit of the Addams Family house, too.

Great. I wanted it to be funky. It's said to be haunted. I wouldn't know, have never been inside.

I thought that too when I first saw it. It also reminds me of an old Victorian house on the street I used to live on. Like this one, it has not been lived in in years and has fallen into disrepair. Someone bought the one near me and tried to turn it into office space but the town asked for so many modifications, for code purposes I suppose, that it never happened. Such a shame.

Oh, that is a shame. I think it was the roof line and the turret that did it for me. Is there any local history about it?

I love turrets.

I don’t know much about the history. Here’s a link to a short blurb about the house - http://matawanhistoricalsociety.org/david-ryer-house/. Now windows are boarded up in places, paint is peeling, etc. supposedly the inside is in bad shape too.

I've always wanted on, but it's not conducive to apartment dwelling.

Thank you so much. I tried to find out more, but couldn't. What a shame to have lost it.

So in a strange coincidence, this just popped up in my Facebook feed. It is public so if you are on Facebook I think you should be able to read it. It’s an old newspaper article about the house. https://www.facebook.com/groups/175009409239133/?fref=nf

Here's a short blurb about the house from when it was on the market. Several people have tried to bring her back to life but failed.http://www.oldhouses.com/2998

Oh, what a lovely place. What a shame that it has fallen into ruins!

It is always a shame w. one of the old girls is torn down. Awesome drawing you did, and it captures that funky Addams family vibe as you wanted. I'm glad to see you continue w. the drawing.
