Tis the season...

Last week was the busiest I've had in a very long time. Four social engagements is way too many for a hermit like me and I'm looking forward to a more peaceful week ahead.

Anah, Trent, and I picked out a tree at Lowe's and my very kind son-in-law hauled it home for us. I really miss having a truck. I also miss cutting a tree, but the last couple of years we haven't. At least it's up and decorated.

Anah chose a pine and it's shorter than I like as well as not my preferred choice of a fir, but it's at least a real tree. Seemed easier to go with her choice than argue.

The half round window looks more like the 4th of July than Christmas. We went a bit crazy with lights this season.

A few more finishing touches tomorrow and then some present wrapping should have us well on the  road to the season finale.

I'm tired already and just maybe next year our holidays will be more simply celebrated.

For all the tired, your decorations look wonderful :) I really miss having a real tree, there's really just no room in the house that we're in. We have this tiny fake tree that we put on top of one of the big speakers near our tv, so at least I do have a tree. I'm hoping to go a little nuts with the lights too. I just love the mellow light of Christmas lights. In the middle of all the busy that is the holiday season I find that they provide a nice calm, and warm glow in my heart. Here's to a quieter week for you :)

Thank you. I do love it when it's all done, shooting for completion today!

I love that tree with just the white lights on it. When we were kids we had something like those foldout foil paper starbursts (at least that's what I think they are) that you have in your half round window. Nice!

The season finale lol. Icicles! <3

Icicles are a must, I used to love the tiny aluminum strips we had when i was a child even though my mother insisted we hang each one individually. And sometimes the cats woukd eat them... argh

If I find some good icicles, I'll get a tree. Loose tinsel? I'd need that too. I always feel like it's missing from most trees.

The tree looks beautiful despite being a pine. I'm allergic to pine so prefer a fir (or an artificial tree). :)

Thanks, it's a nice little tree.

OMG! What a tree!
I love the white lights and would love to see some of those ornaments. Can't quite tell what they are from this photo.

Thanks. Last year we switched to colored lights, I said no way this year. I shall take some closeups.
