Acceptance and Gratitude

I don't make resolutions, but thought I'd choose a theme for this year and it will be acceptance and gratitude. I've been stressing and fighting against my increasing inability to stand or walk so I might as well accept it and use the energy eaten up by bemoaning my fate for something positive. Time to cast on that sweater.

And, I have so much to be grateful for that it is bound to be helpful to count my blessings every day. For years I kept gratitude lists and maybe I'll get back into doing that.

I'm grateful today for the pellet stove which keeps the house so warm since it's negative 1 outside with snow on the ground.

Grateful to get a few sentences down on paper so to speak as I have been so blank lately when it comes to writing.

I think that is a great idea! I am doing something similar which I think I will write about when I go inside.

I guess I've missed it, but I didn't realize you were having so much difficulty walking or standing. Is it your hips?

Oh, I think I might have asked you about that before...I must have forgotten.

I had a back injury about 12 years ago. I actually felt something happen and shift when it happened, but did not know what it was until days later. My back, L 4, 5, 6 had been failing and weakened after years of abuse. I tried PT, traction, drugs, chiropractor, because I did not want to have surgery. None of those things worked at all, so I finally consented to the surgery. They realigned everything, plus built me new cushions from my own pelvic bone. I have my limits, but I am so glad I had it done.

Surgery is apparently not an option for me, also have idiopathic scoliosis. Am so glad that it helped you.
