an artist...

Many years passed before the woman understood she was an artist.
She felt her accomplishments to be paltry
A dozen jars of bright red raspberry jam mocked her thoughts
And she did not see

Til with life's ending breaths her life spread
Before her revealing the richness
The absolute artistry of existence fully spent
Her open-ended eyes unveiled

Beauty unsurpassed in the flake of a pie crust
Joy absolute in the eyes of a child
Sunshine on a polished mirror
The woman smiled

That is beautiful and extremely poignant! We all have our own talents, and there's no large or small category...it is all good. Oh I would love to be able to make bright red jars of raspberry jams or be good with numbers or .... many other things. People often say to me, "Oh, I wish I could do what you do." And my answer back is always, "We all have our own talents."

Thank you. You are so right. Each of us is uniquely talented and an artist designing a life.
