So, after being sick for a week, I finally conceded to a visit to the doctor. I was reasonably certain I had bronchitis but he quickly diagnosed my malady as RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), very common in children. One of my granddaughters had it as a baby and was hospitalized.
The interesting part is that according to my doc, in December the CDC started logging lots of cases of an unknown bronchial illness in adults. It took them a couple of months to identify as a new strain of RSV that targets us older folks. Viruses are very sneaky and constantly morph into new forms to attack us humanoids. They may win in the end. Perhaps they will trigger the Apocalypse.
I got a lot of meds, an inhaler (never had one), antibiotics, an injection in my derriere, and some codeine cough medicine guaranteed to give me a good night's sleep.
My wonderful daughter #2 took me to the doctor, put clean sheets on bed, and made sure I ate, so now all I have to do is get well. That I can handle.
Be well everybody...this crud is no fun
