To get the day off to a good beginning I think I will do a bit of appreciation:

I am grateful that the new floor is laid in the bedroom.

I am grateful that I am beginning to adjust to my daughter and granddaughter moving out.

I am grateful for the beautiful red cardinals at my birdfeeder.

I  am grateful for having some energy this morning.

I am grateful for my continued good health.

I am grateful for the hope of warmer temperatures and less snow.

and so it is...

My Vacation

I was greatly blessed by the gift of a spa vacation with my second eldest daughter.  We drove to Excelsior Springs, MO where we stayed at The Elms, built in the late 19th century, and restored with loving care.  We had a massage, facial, and pedicure and enjoyed ourselves immensely.  Managed to drink one bottle of wine, and get a little tipsy and sentimental.

The hotel restaurant was fabulous and not overpriced which was doubly wonderful, as the weather outside was awful.  We totally enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in spite of the frigid winds and snow, and hope to return there in warmer months to swim in the pool too.
