Knit Notes

The sweater grows though ever slowly. A number of errors slowed progress and dampened enthusiasm making this project a long one. I'm liking the color and the cables are starting  to "pop." My excitement is for the medallion coming up as soon as I finish the front and back. Since I've never done anything quite like it before, a test in perseverance and patience lies ahead.

Finished reading "Brideshead Revisted," and am binging on the miniseries. A hard book to leave behind. I'd like to continue to be a part of the family for a while longer. More on that later.

Thank you mallorys_camera for the idea of reading this book. How wonderful and the mini series fits well.

I like those cables. They look much fancier than anything I have ever tried. Kudos to you for taking on a sweater - I have no patience for anthing that big.

I chose the pattern for the cables. There is a large Celtic knot medallion in the back. I'm a little nervous about working that as it looks difficult. BTW did I ever tell you that I was in the SCA quite a few years ago? I love reading about the things you do in the group as I have fond memories of my time as a member.

Love the colour and the work on this project :) Next year I'm determined to find time to make something that calls for an actual pattern that isn't a blanket, and I can only hope it turns out as well. :)

Thanks. I have to admit it's driving me nuts at time. I hope I live long to wear it lol The thought of blocking it is scary.

Socks are fun imho and not nearly as hard as I thought at first.

I've definitely been thinking of trying out some socks! Very glad to know that they aren't as hard as one might first think, cause I've gotten a lot of requests but always been somewhat intimidated by the actual task of making some lol

I do mine on 4 needles top down. There's many other methods. Love self striping yarns. BTW knitpicks.com has a great sale right now including some sock yarns.
