Rosemary

In the corner of our living room lives the rosemary plant. I think she is 3 years old. Every spring my husband dutifully drags her outside and each fall she comes back in. It's absolute bliss to rub her branches, but only if you like the pungent odor of rosemary. This is the large rosemary plant I've raised from a start. I'm killed an old one, so sad, by over pruning. So this one is a replacement. I had two, but gave one to my granddaughter, don't know if has survived the winter. The rosemary plants I have known and loved quite enjoy the hot dry summers and even survived the incredible rains last year. It's wonderful to have fresh rosemary available all winter.

I have two growing in my garden - the smell is meant to be good for headaches and memory loss :-)

That's a great looking Rosemary. I have grown Rosemary outside in the garden many times. Some years it dies over the winter and never comes back. Other plants have surprised me and survived over multiple winters outside. Since we've moved I can only do container gardening. I dig start a Rosemary over the summer and she is still outside, along with my thyme, oregano, lavender, and mints. I hope at least some of them survive the winter.
